As I am not very good at planning ahead in my own city, it took me a while to eat at Lastage. It has been on my wish list for a number of years, even before they were awarded with a Michelin star. Last week I got lucky, as I called and just a minute after another guest cancelled, so within 10 minutes we were welcomed in the cozy restaurant housed in a small canal house.
It was sure worth the wait! I am more a sweet tooth for desert but was blown away by the cheese desert. Epoisses Nu in brioche with quince, foie gras and unrefined cane sugar. Heavenly!
